Geothermal Power

How it works: (1) By harnessing heat from the earth (2) steam is created to generate energy and (3) transmitted to the grid as a firm power. (4) The extracted fluid stays contained within the system avoiding any contact with the atmosphere and (5) is reinjected underground to replenish the resource.

Why Geothermal Power?

The high quality and abundance of geothermal power makes it an economical and firm power source for Hawaii. Present day technology allows geothermal power to be generated with minimal environmental and land area impact.
